My Bio
I have a fascination with the shapes, shadows, movement, power, and sensation that a single moment can contain. I have always wanted to be able to harness the raw emotion in beautiful, brief things that are often taken for granted; to evoke hundreds of emotions in an immediate understanding between art and audience. I long to reach that elusive sweet spot where the colors are just right and the anatomy is real and flowing in a way that the picture takes on a story of its own. The place where my mother says "you really captured it."
Perhaps the above is just a bit aggrandized ;). Certainly I have a long way to go before I am anywhere near that point. Right now I'm just practicing, and often I don't even get around doing that. Anyway, art isn't about the destination, it's about the journey!

Let it be known that I am not dead! I am instead, like 50% of the other artists on dA, too busy and/or lazy to upload stuff.
I haven't had time to make any finished drawings lately so I'm diverting my 'arting' to studying anatomy and the like. I've been working on learning dogs. They turn out to be pretty easy for me compared with horses. Also cats, more birds, dragons, and landscape. I'm generally trying to broaden my capabilities. Humans, on the other hand, continue to be very hard and are still very much a work in progress. I'm working on that as quickly as my patience permits. Over the past few months, while I was away from my primary computer, scanner and tablet, I did something that I have actually never managed to do before! I, WalnutPixie, finished a sketch book! Cover to cover!
Sure, I've had tons (almost literally, you should see my book shelf!) of sketch books before, but I would always start a new one after filling up about 4/5 of the previous book. Sometimes I just needed to stop looking at the old sketches at the beginning that I had by that time greatly exceeded in talent. Far more frequently I would just lose the sketchbook in my closet and not be able to find it until years later.
I'm so wasteful :3
